This is the concept document for project one.

In Class Mini-Game: Pool

Assignment instructions:

Requirements: card game, verb- launching, value- responsibility (accountability for the outcome of a situation), challenge – pollution (toxic substances that make people unhealthy and damage the air, soil, and water).

Results:

Pool is a card game where two players compete against each other to see who can end up with the cleanest pool. Play consists of players completing 3 three turn cycles including an additional turn. Each cycle consists of three different tasks: draw (draw a card from the pile), look (look at a card in your pool), pass (pass a player’s card to the other player). The game consists of two different kinds of cards, water cards and pollution cards. Each task cannot be completed more than once in each cycle. For example in a player’s first three turns, a player can only draw once, look once, and pass once in any order. After the third turn the cycle restarts and play continues for another two cycles. Once the three cycles are completed each player receives an additional turn and can choose from any of the tasks to choose from.

Once play is completed player’s flip over their four cards to reveal who has the cleanest pool. The winner is decided by the player who has the least amount pollution cards in their pool. Play usually lasts between 5-10 minutes for every game.
